Welcome to Tangled in Webs 2026: Import Year & Expo Lineup

At Tangled in Webs, we’ve always believed that ethical, captive-bred arachnids and passionate education can transform the exotic-pet hobby for the better. As one of Canada’s largest importers of captive-bred tarantulas, we work with trusted breeders around the world to cultivate rare species and support major breeding initiatives. A 2019 report on tarantula trade found that more than 96% of tarantulas in international trade from 2007–2016 were captive-bred and less than 1% were wild-caught—evidence that ethical breeding really does make a difference. We’re proud to be part of that change.

Our mission and shift to wholesale

In 2025 we shifted from retail sales to a wholesale-only model so we could collaborate directly with local pet-stores across Canada. Working hand-in-hand with our sister company, INVERTA, we supply ethically bred tarantulas and premium bioactive substrates to neighbourhood shops from coast to coast. This shift allows hobbyists to discover high-quality, captive-bred arachnids close to home while supporting small businesses and strengthening local communities. Our Canadian Arachnid Community on Facebook and our species care guides will continue to serve as vibrant hubs for education and support.

Introducing our 2026 import dates

We’ve planned a carefully timed import schedule for 2026 to ensure healthy animals and stress-free logistics. Our tentative dates are:

  • Spring Import
  • Summer – May
  • Fall – August
  • Year-end – November

As we prepare for these imports, we’ll be working closely with our network of trusted retail partners. Availability will be announced through these stores, so you can find our captive-bred arachnids and INVERTA supplies at a shop near you—supporting local businesses and reducing travel time for the animals.

Expos and education

Tangled in Webs has grown from a small dream into a thriving community educator. In 2026 we’ll be attending a number of expos and events across Canada—stay tuned for our full line-up! Whether we’re on the road or at home base, education remains at the heart of what we do. Expect weekly blog posts that spotlight species, share husbandry tips and highlight the incredible stores that have supported us over the years. Our monthly newsletter will deliver import updates, new product announcements and community highlights right to your inbox. And of course, we’ll keep our social-media channels buzzing with daily snippets of tarantula facts, behind-the-scenes glimpses and event announcements.

Thank you for your support

As we embark on our 2026 import year, we want to thank the dedicated stores, breeders and hobbyists who have championed ethical tarantula care alongside us. Your passion and support make it possible for us to bring the magic of tarantulas to more hands while ensuring these incredible animals are treated with the respect they deserve. We’re excited to share this next chapter with you—welcome to Tangled in Webs 2026!
